We collect and use certain personal information about you. When we do so we are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

The Geodentify app is a Commercial app, this service is provided by Geodentify (registered company number 16440754) and is intended for use as is.

Policy Summary

If you choose to use our Service, we want to be clear about how your information will be used and that we will not do anything that you would not reasonably expect. The following principles apply:

we will never sell your personal information;
we won’t share your personal information unless we are legally required to do so;
we will keep your personal information safe in a securely controlled environment;
we will only request that you provide us with information necessary for the purpose of using the App;
we won’t warehouse your personal information and will only retain it where is this is necessary for the purpose of using the App.

Information Collection and Use

We may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to full name, organisation and email address.

We will use your personal information only when we have a proper reason for doing so, namely:

for the performance of our agreement with you;
to enhance your experience, while using our Service;
for legitimate interests of a third party service provider (see below);
to comply with any legal obligations; or
where you have given consent

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following legitimate reasons:

to facilitate our Service where we do not have the capacity to do so inhouse;
to perform testing, maintenance and other similar services; or
to assist us in analysing how our Service is used.

Service providers will have access to your personal information to allow them to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated to adhere to our Privacy Policy and not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose other than for the roles assigned to them.

How long your personal information will be kept

The information that we request will be used and retained by us for no longer than is necessary for the purpose set out in this Privacy Policy. However, as there is no specific time limit in place in relation to the specific information we are collecting for the purpose of using the App. should you no longer wish us to hold your data you should contact us as set out in the ‘Your Rights’ and ‘Contact Us’ sections below. Your personal information will be deleted automatically only in the event of us terminating use of the App (see Terms and Conditions).

Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security where this is outside of our control.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. We encourage all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to us through the Application and/or Services, please contact us.

Your Rights

You have the following rights, which you can usually exercise free of charge:

Access – the right to be provided with a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Rectification – the right to require us to correct any mistakes in your personal information.

To be forgotten – the right to require us to delete your personal information (in certain circumstances).

By downloading or using the app, these terms will automatically apply to you – therefore, you should make sure that you read them carefully before using the app.

App Usage & Responsibility

You’re not allowed to copy or modify the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way.
You must not attempt to extract the source code of the app, and you must not translate the app into other languages or make derivative versions.
The app itself, and all the trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it, still belong to Geodentify Limited.

Geodentify Limited is committed to ensuring that the app is as useful and efficient as possible. For that reason, we reserve the right to make changes to the app or to charge for its services, at any time and for any reason. We will never charge you for the app or its services without making it very clear to you exactly what you’re paying for.

Geodentify Limited cannot take responsibility for the way you use the app i.e. you need to make sure that your device stays charged in order to avail the Service.

When you’re using the app, it’s important to bear in mind that although we endeavour to ensure that it is updated and correct at all times, we do rely on third parties to provide data to us so that we can make it available to you. Geodentify Limited accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, you experience as a result of relying wholly on the functionality of the app.

The app is currently available on Android and iOS – the requirements for both systems (and for any additional systems we decide to extend the availability of the app to) may change, and you’ll need to download the updates if you want to keep using the app.

Geodentify Limited does not commit that it will always update the app so that it is relevant to you and/or works with the Android and iOS versions that you have installed on your device. However, you commit to accepting all updates to the application when offered to you. We may also wish to stop providing the app and may terminate use of it at any time without giving notice of termination to you.

Unless we tell you otherwise, upon any termination:

the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end;
you must stop using the app, and (if needed) delete it from your device;
we will delete your personal information from our system (see Privacy Policy).

Data Processing and Security

The Geodentify app stores and processes personal data that you have shared with us, to provide our Service (refer to our Privacy Policy for further information). It’s your responsibility to keep your phone and access to the app secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. It could make your phone vulnerable to malware/viruses/malicious programs and compromise your phone’s security features resulting in the app not working properly or at all.

Connectivity

You should be aware that there are certain things that Geodentify Limited will not take responsibility for. Certain functions of the app will require the app to have an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider, but Food Forensics Limited cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi, and you don’t have any of your data allowance left.

If you’re using the app outside of an area with Wi-Fi, you should remember that the terms of the agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. As a result, you may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data for the duration of the connection while accessing the app, or other third-party charges. In using the app, you’re accepting responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the app outside of your home territory (i.e. region or country) without turning off data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you’re using the app, please be aware that we assume that you have received permission from the bill payer for using the app.
